When we allow ourselves to play and experiment, something incredible happens. We step out of control and into intuition, and that’s where the magic begins. That’s where we make truly powerful art.
I found my way into this new series through nature. When I’m out walking, I’m often captivated by the dappled sunlight filtering through the leaves. That simple, fleeting beauty became my starting point. I held onto that feeling as I began each piece, even as they wandered in unexpected directions. Nature grounded me, inspired me, and gently reminded me to let go.
Letting go was a challenge — I’m used to carefully working through layers of intricate detail. But releasing control has been freeing. It brought me to life, and my art will never be the same.
These new works are rich with texture and movement. I build them up in layers, incorporating collage elements and sanding back through the surface to reveal hidden moments underneath. The process is physical, intuitive, and ever-evolving. I’ve created three pieces in this series, each with its own unique color story, but all connected by the rhythm of nature and the joy of exploration.
