Mixed media on canvas. This deep edge canvas is a new take on my underwater paintings. Im concentrating on capturing movement and light and how it make me feel as a viewer.

When we are under the water its constantly moving, pulling you back and forth. Its impossible to get any purchase on the pebbles to take a completely still shot. So I took hundred’s of photos with my GoPro camera to use as inspiration for this body of work. Some of the shots look a bit crazy, with dragged light and lines. It turns out that these are the most interesting images to work from. The ones that weren’t quite right so to speak. The imperfect ones that you would usually delete from your phone. That constant movement is what Im hoping the capture in this work. A new way of seeing and a new way of painting. I also began a journey with new materials. Using mixed media and wooden boards I have spent several months exploring new ideas and surfaces. I hope you enjoy them.
