When I started this painting, I was looking to gently push myself in a new direction and try something different. I wanted to explore a more fluid and intuitive way of mark-making, letting the process feel looser and more free. It wasn’t about overthinking or planning too much—it was all about focusing on the energy of the piece and how the colors worked together to create movement and life.

As I worked, I found myself getting lost in the process, discovering new ways to capture the essence of water—how it moves, how it dances, and how light plays across it in constantly shifting patterns. Painting this felt exciting, like opening a door to something fresh and full of potential.
