Hi, I’m Fran Halpin, an artist from Dublin.
Growing up in Tallaght, I always dreamed of spending my life in a studio, painting stories onto canvas. Unlike many, I never aspired to work in an office or follow a conventional path—being an artist was my calling, and I’ve pursued it with unwavering determination.
Working my way through college presented its share of challenges, made even more complex by my later-in-life discovery of dyslexia. While this realization shed light on the struggles I’d faced, it didn’t deter me. Instead, it became a defining part of my journey, shaping my resilience and creativity. Overcoming these obstacles taught me the value of perseverance and helped carve out the artist I am today.
My work is deeply inspired by the connection between nature and family, two forces that anchor us to our most cherished memories. Through my art, I strive to tell a story that invites viewers to step away from the busyness of modern life and rediscover moments of simplicity and calm—the kind of tranquility we often associate with childhood.
For me, every brushstroke is an opportunity to create a pause, a space where we can reconnect with those fleeting, magical moments that remind us of who we are and where we come from.
